PHOTOGRAPHER / CREATIVE DIRECTOR
As a photographer, creative director and consultant, Derrick Kakembo has a body of work that makes him one of the most exciting tastemakers in London today. He is the founder and creative director of the cultural platform Reform the Funk which he started after feeling frustrated with the misrepresentation of Black culture often found in mainstream publications. Reform the Funk focuses on real narratives and in-depth stories and it was his own creative work that launched it.
