I first discovered Sherrie Silver in 2016 thanks to her dance film Marimba Rija Remix. An hour later I’d watched every video she’s ever produced (stop what you’re doing now and watch them) and understood for the first time, that choreography can release the power of a story through dance. Silver’s ability to harness that is akin to magic.
Talent recognises talent so good things will keep happening. Silver choreographed the short film Hadid, Hadid, Hadid starring Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Anwar Hadid and Yolanda Hadid, directed by Bardia Zeinali to celebrate the end of New York Fashion Week for American Vogue. And until the end of 2018 she is choreographing and touring with Childish Gambino bringing her magic to people close-up, just as dance was meant to be.
