It’s not every day you’re commissioned to immortalize a Polish right-wing extremist with only one eye, but for Radical-signed Photographer/Director Joshua Osborne, that was his first foray into photography. Armed with an old Russian Zenit 35mm from his auntie, he remembers the surreal experience of observing a group of neo-Nazis tattooing each other. The deal was I was taking pictures for their new business enterprise, but obviously, for me, it was more that they were interesting subjects,” he explains.

At Chelsea College of Arts, he progressed to moving image, making his first short film inspired by “an unfortunate event that happened to a course mate.” Taking this as a starting point, he enlisted his mum and dad as the cast, “a proper family affair, everyone pulling together. Since then, I’ve never looked back,” he adds.
