Peppering her films with a mix of street-cast and first-timers gives them an authentic feel and reflects her natural affinity for casting. “I love uncovering talent in the most unlikely places and I pride myself on instinctively knowing when a person is right for the role regardless of their background,” she explains.

Her short Knock Down Ginger, which was nominated for Best Female Director at London Short Film Festival (“never understood the female part of that”) is no different, showcasing a wide range of diverse talent and giving an “unusual insight into the world of a gang of girls,” via “human and thought-provoking scenes.”
