The Pitch Fanzine Charter.

A Legacy for Future Generations

The Pitch Fanzine was founded on the belief that creativity has the power to change lives, strengthen communities, and shape the future.

This Charter exists to protect that vision for generations to come. It is a statement of purpose, values, and responsibility that shall guide every future custodian of The Pitch Fanzine and its intellectual property.

Our Purpose

We exist to inspire creativity, celebrate culture, encourage learning, and create opportunities that improve people’s lives.

Our work seeks to connect communities, industries, and generations through storytelling, education, media, and creative collaboration.

Our Values

These principles should guide every decision made in the name of The Pitch Fanzine:

•  Creativity with purpose.

•  Kindness, respect, and integrity.

•  Curiosity and lifelong learning.

•  Courage to challenge injustice through ideas, dialogue, and creativity.

•  Excellence in everything we create.

•  Collaboration over competition.

•  Long-term thinking over short-term gain.

Stewardship

The Pitch Fanzine does not belong to any one generation.

Those entrusted with its leadership are custodians, not owners.

Their responsibility is to protect its independence, reputation, intellectual property, and mission for those who will inherit it.

Commitment to Education

Education shall remain at the heart of our work.

We will continue creating opportunities for young people to learn, create, and discover careers in the creative industries.

Knowledge should be shared generously and responsibly.

Commitment to Jamaica

The Pitch Fanzine recognises Jamaica as a source of extraordinary creativity, culture, and resilience.

Where possible, we will invest our time, knowledge, partnerships, and resources in initiatives that support Jamaican communities, creative industries, education, cultural preservation, and sustainable economic opportunity.

Global Outlook

While our roots are proudly Jamaican, our outlook is global.

We welcome collaboration across cultures and nations, believing that creativity grows stronger when ideas are shared across borders.

Protection of Intellectual Property

The stories, films, publications, educational programmes, designs, trademarks, and other intellectual property created by The Pitch Fanzine should be protected responsibly.

They exist not simply as commercial assets but as cultural works intended to inspire future generations.

Financial Responsibility

The Pitch Fanzine should seek financial sustainability through ethical business practices.

Profits should strengthen the organisation, support those who contribute to its success, provide for future generations of the founder’s family and the Jamaican people as directed through appropriate legal arrangements, and enable investment in initiatives that advance the organisation’s charitable and educational mission.

Independence

Editorial independence is essential.

Our work must remain truthful, thoughtful, and free from improper influence.

Partnerships should strengthen our mission, never compromise it.

Environmental Responsibility

We recognise our responsibility to care for the natural world.

Whenever possible, our projects should contribute positively to communities and the environment for future generations.

Legacy

Success should not be measured only by wealth, recognition, or influence.

It should be measured by the number of people inspired to create, the opportunities opened for others, the communities strengthened, and the positive impact left behind.

May every generation leave The Pitch Fanzine stronger than they found it.

Create with courage, lead with kindness, and leave a legacy.

Time, to create our new futures.

We are in a knowledge-sharing evolution, creating a new world.
