Time, for a rest.

Travel.

After 10 years and 11 months of building The Pitch Fanzine, finding our peopledem first, planning, preparing the foundations, creating, and sharing knowledge along the way, the time has come for a short pause.

When I started this journey, I could never have imagined where it would lead.

Together, we have celebrated founders, creatives, filmmakers, animators, photographers, producers, innovators, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and changemakers.

We have explored ideas, challenged perceptions, built relationships and connected people across Jamaica, the UK, and beyond.

Most importantly, we have continued to believe that creativity has the power to shape a better future.

You have learned how I was inspired to become a Jamaican Freedom Fighter, about Dad’s Life Medicine, and to Call her, Kenisha.

Now, it’s time to rest as our journey evolves.

Throughout August, I will be handing the editorial baton to a special group of Guest Editors for our new series:

Voices Shaping Jamaica’s Future.

These respected leaders will share their perspectives, ideas, and hopes for Jamaica, exploring the opportunities ahead for our creative industries, communities, businesses, and future generations.

I couldn’t think of a better way to begin the next chapter than by opening The Pitch Fanzine platform to voices that are helping to shape our country’s future.

While our Guest Editors take the lead, I will take some time to reflect, recharge, and prepare for what comes next.

In September, I’ll return with Pitch Creative People.

Our special series will celebrate the leaders, founders, and creative Jamaicans who are shaping our future at home and across the diaspora, while continuing to strengthen the connections between the UK, Jamaica, and the world.

Alongside the series, companies looking to collaborate will have the opportunity to say, "Hello to Jamaica."

Together, these initiatives mark the next step towards a much bigger vision, one that continues to explore how creativity, education, entrepreneurship, and culture can create lasting opportunities for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who has followed this journey, shared our stories, encouraged our vision and believed in what we are building together.

We are in a knowledge-sharing evolution, creating a new world.

Time, to create our new futures.

Best wishes,
