Being yourself
Some people think that to fit in, you must be like them
Well, you don’t
You can be any which way you please
And that shouldn’t affect you or me
Just because I don’t live in a mansion, it doesn’t mean you should treat me differently
Just because I don’t wear designer clothes, it doesn’t mean you should treat me differently
Just because I don’t talk like you, it doesn’t mean you should treat me with less respect
Because I treat you nicely and you’re not like me
Not everyone is going to like you
Not everyone I meet likes me.
If I let people with their mean comments get to me
Where would I be?
Just because someone doesn’t like you, don’t let it get to you
Just because someone doesn’t like you, don’t let the sadness get you down
Just because you have imagination and they don’t, don’t feel out of place
Just be yourself and let them accept you for you, don’t change
Every now and again, we need to say, “Thank you God for making me, me.”
Because I am different, and that’s what makes me stand out
It’s what makes me unique and different
And I don’t need to fit in when I was born to stand out
I am bold and different
It doesn’t matter what I wear or what I look like
Just because you may not like or think what I do is right
Treat others the way you want to be treated
And accept them for who they are
