Pitch Amazing Jamaican, Carlinton Burrell.

Travel.

And save the planet.

Some leaders build businesses; others build ecosystems that shape the future. Jamaican Carlinton Burrell is creating both.

A visionary leader driving cleantech innovation and climate resilience across the Caribbean, Carlinton is CEO of the Caribbean Climate Innovation Center (CCIC), helping to redefine what the region can become in a rapidly changing world, not just responding to global challenges, but as one that leads solutions.

At the heart of his work is a clear and powerful belief: that climate change, while urgent, also presents one of the greatest opportunities for innovation, growth, and long-term economic transformation across the Caribbean.

Through his leadership, the CCIC has become a driving force behind this vision.

Working with entrepreneurs, startups, and early-stage companies, Carlinton and his team are building a pipeline of climate-smart businesses across sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and resource management. These are not just ideas; they are real ventures, designed to scale, attract investment, and compete globally.

But what sets Carlinton apart is his focus on structure.

Innovation alone is not enough. It needs systems, support, and strategy to grow.

Under his guidance, the CCIC has evolved into more than an innovation hub. It is now a platform that connects founders to funding, provides technical training, and creates pathways for Caribbean businesses to enter the global cleantech market.

In doing so, Carlinton is helping to build something much bigger than individual companies. He is helping to shape a new economic direction for the region.

Beyond entrepreneurship, his influence extends into policy and regional development.

Carlinton works closely with governments, private-sector leaders, and international organisations to design programmes and initiatives that support climate resilience and sustainable growth. His work sits at the intersection of innovation, policy, and economic strategy, ensuring that the Caribbean is not left behind in the global transition to a low-carbon future.

His approach is both practical and forward-thinking.

With a Master’s Degree in Computer-Based Management Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Electronics from the University of the West Indies, alongside certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scrum Master, Carlinton brings a rare combination of technical expertise and strategic execution.

Carlinton understands systems, people, and most importantly, how to turn ideas into action. This ability to move from vision to execution is what defines his leadership.

Because for Carlinton, the goal is not just to talk about sustainability.

It is to build industries around it, creating jobs, unlocking investment, and positioning the Caribbean as a global base for climate-smart innovation.

His work is a reminder that the region's future will not be determined by its challenges, but by the leaders who choose to turn them into opportunities.

Carlinton Burrell is an amazing Jamaican.
